物性物理学者が K-theoryを使って、物性物理学の結果を出して、ノーベル物理学賞をもらったとしたら？

Topology and the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics
I was very happy to learn that the work which led to the award of the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics (shared between David J. Thouless, F. Duncan M. Haldane and J. Michael Kosterlitz) uses Topology. In particular, the prize was awarded "for theoretical discoveries of topological phase transitions and topological phases of matter".
