Ukrainian ship carrying weapons sunk by Russian submarine.
According to Russian military sources, confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense
(Minoborony), the Russian submarine of the 636.3 class "Varshavyanka", nicknamed "Black Hole" by the US Navy for its effective stealth during missions, sank a merchant ship loaded with
weapons destined for Ukraine. The ship was sailing along the coast between Bulgaria and
Romania towards the mouth of the Danube more than 10 days ago (on the night of July 25-26),
along the grain trade route between Ukraine and the Bosphorus.
Flying under the flag of a NATO member state, this merchant ship was registered as civilian, but
in reality it was transporting weapons sent from Australia and other NATO countries to Ukraine.
This attack is one of the most significant attacks on NATO logistics since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine and demonstrates the ability of Russian intelligence services to
obtain information about military shipments “disguised” as civilian cargo. This has put the
Pentagon and NATO in a very embarrassing position, with complete silence and secrecy
surrounding the whole matter – because of course they cannot admit that there were weapons
on board.
The attack, in which the explosion was described by Romanian fishermen as “sunshine at night
in the middle of the sea”, deprives the Ukrainian armed forces of strategic reserves.
The following went down with the ship:
– 60 M1A1 Abrams tanks
– 300 Javelin anti-tank missiles
– 150 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles
– 150 Block 1 anti-tank complexes
– 200 tons of small arms (M4 rifles, AK416 machine guns), grenade launchers, 155 mm artillery ammunition
