I think its very important for all to get a position that is
suitable for them. In this wide job market, you might wonder how
you can tell a right job from another but in most cases you
must be aware of your strengths unless you want to start out
something completely new, right? If the position you apply
for requires your expertise, then most likely you and the
employer can be happy since you might be able to deliver
benefits to them while doing things you want. Of course, its
also important to acquire new skills but I do not think it
is pragmatic in business if all you do is to learn. I am sure
that most companies want to hire someone who would ask what
they can do for them before asking what the company can do.
Anyway, I hope to get a new valuable career soon.

in the us you negociated the starting salary , right?
before when i applied for the position i lacked related experience.
at the job interview i told an interviewer i would work without salary,
then i could be a winner out of approx 100 applicants.
i could have used such a tactics if i'd have been considered to be young.
but right now i am regarded as a middle aged man. this tactics cant be applied any more.

at several companies so far in- and outside Japan but I've never
really had preferences on salary unless they asked. Everytime I looked for a new
job, I was always focused on the expectations they had towards
candidates and I kept my fingers crossed for the one I considered
appropriate. So, I had to go through ups and downs in salary range.

I don't really know what they would think about me but am sure
that most people admit the importance of commitment to duties.
Unlike you, I have no experience of running a business but
always try to find a niche for my expertise, in order to succeed
and contribute to others. To do so, I had to go thru some job changes.
In some, my performances at work were fine and even finer than expected.
In others, the company's expectations did not meet mine due to changing
requirements. The rests were somewhere in between. Consequently, those
stable jobs encouraged me to leave because I wanted to move
toward the higher level and unstable ones because I found my
skills turning to a junk. That is why I had to change my career
several times. In four months, I have had about 21 interviews
and they all failed. In most cases, I do not really know about their reasons for rejection, though.

How come you decided to quit the job so quickly? I have some work
experiences in Japan but nothing was as short as yours. (The shortest
one I've ever had was two-month long.) What was the reasons for quitting?
I understand you feel very stressed out about a life here as I feel the same way,
struggling to find a job for these four months. Still, I don't see
any way-out. Time just passes in vain. If you are young, there can be
a lot of other things that you might want to do besides work but
in my case, I'm 29 and want to get ready for finding my future wife
to start a new life. I just hope that I can find a position soon.

to escape from reality. I have to insist that my cause is
strictly to communicate with others, regardless of background.

I can understand why she has to chooses English when it comes to something
really serious like an argument. I could be refutable too if I have to cope with
hundreds of criticisms and provide the wisest answers for all. Just like your friend
that spent long years abroad, my situation is similar. For that period, I mostly talked

There are many head hunters who are foreigners in Japan.
You could join some company in Japan whose head office is in US.
For my case, I limit the place, only in Tokyo... so it is difficult.

It doesn't make any sense, if you just keep talking in English and
say it is not really what you want to do! For me, its better talking
in English because as you might have noticed somewhere else, I can
often make much stronger points using English because it was how
I communicated in the past ten years or so.
