勝手な想像をすると、たぶん英語ネイティブの人に対して質問者が
英会話学校か何かの講師になってくれって頼んだんだろう？
それに対する相手の返事がこれなんだろうよ。そうなるとこの英文は、
たぶんこんな意味だろう。

After school (= After I teach at your school), I will tell you
how I like it (= whether I like teaching there).
If I don't like it (= If I don't like teaching there),
I really want to go back to college (instead of teaching at your school).

いうのだとは聞いていたが、ほんまかいなと思っていた。

そこで、ミュージシャンのグループについての biography の洋書
（350ページ）をずっと読んでいたら、確かに片っ端から
楽器には the がなくて、play guitar, play piano などと
なっている。面白いと思った次第じゃった。
