【日本の精神病院はアウシュビッツ】
日本の精神病院はアウシュビッツだと言っていたドイツ人がいた。
そのドイツ人は日本の精神病院に入院してすぐ退院して本国に帰ってしまった。
日本の方が稼げるんだけどと言いながら、最後に「ドイツに帰ってきてつくずく良かった」と
書いてあった。後日メールにて。
何通かメールでやり取りして、今は病院には入院とかしたりしているのと聞いたら、
「１回もしていない」と書いていた。
もし日本の精神病院がドイツにあれば全人口の１０％は入院しなければいけない
イギリスでは２０％、フランスでは５０％、イタリアでは１００％入院しなければいけない
と書いてあった。

精神病院は一度洗いざらい調査して過去の死亡退院の有無を公表した上で、死亡退院有の結果に対しては全部証拠保全した方が良いと思う。
特に精神科単科や閉鎖での死亡退院患者の実に90%以上は、なにかしらの精神科医による金儲け目的の理由で殺されているよ。

ビクトリア大で日本語と心理学を学び、日本の小中学生に、この２年、英語を教えていたケリー・サベジさんの死が、母国のニュージーランドだけでなく、英国、オーストラリア、スウェーデンなどで、大きく報じられています。
躁病の発作で裸になって騒ぐケリーさんを心配する兄のパットさんに、横浜市の職員が、神奈川県の精神病院、大和病院を紹介しました。
診療室では落ちつきを取り戻していたケリーさんをベッドに胴体と手足を縛りつける「身体拘束」するように医師が指示。おむつをつけられ１０日続きました。そして、１０日後の４月３０日の夜９時すぎ、心肺停止状態になっているところを看護師が発見しました。
ケリーさんは、市立大和病院に搬送され、蘇生処置が施されましたが、５月１７日に死を宣告されました。
市立病院の医師は「１０日間、抑制（縛ること）されたことを考えると、深部静脈血栓が発生し肺の血管がつまり、心肺停止になった可能性があります」と遺族に説明しました。
「なぜ縛られなければなければならなかったのか」「なぜ死ななければならかったのか」、
それを知りたくて、遺族はこの２カ月間、病院にカルテのコピーを求めつづけていますが、病院側は拒んでいます。

つまり、2年間のうちに、患者のうちの25％が、精神科医による投薬で殺されたということ。
で、英国では、認知症患者への抗精神病薬の使用が激減した。

死亡診断書には「肺炎」とのみ書かれ、この極悪犯罪は闇に葬られている。

This is me and my brother Kelly painting Easter eggs when he was about 13. Kelly
was my only brother and my best friend. His death has been an incredible tragedy
for our whole family and all of his friends. But since I am the one who was there
at the time he was restrained and have all the evidence of his mistreatment by
Yamato Hospital, I’m going to focus just on the objective evidence I have of this
incident and not on his life.
In March this year Kelly stopped taking his medication and in April started feeling
bad. On April 25th he flew up to my apartment in Yokohama to be in a safe place
for a week or two so he could get back on his medication. I’m glad he at least got
the chance to meet his newborn nephew before he died.

Unfortunately, although he restarted his medication, his symptoms just got worse
and on the evening of April 29th and the morning of the 30th he seemed to lose
touch with reality. He screamed, ran outside, and pushed my Dad when he tried to
stop him from leaving. I first called an ambulance, but was told they couldn’t help
with mental health. I finally called the police on the morning of the 30th to put them
on standby, but they decided to come immediately. When they tried to escort Kelly,
he struggled and tried to escape, so they restrained and handcuffed him. Once he
was handcuffed he calmed down and walked to the police car escorted by police.
After a few hours, Yokohama City Office arranged for us to be taken to Yamato
Hospital for an interview for compulsory hospitalization. Kelly didn’t struggle, but
refused to respond. At 2:58pm his compulsory hospitalization was authorized by
the Mayor of Yokohama. We were immediately taken to a locked room in a locked
ward, where Kelly was ordered to lie down on the bed. He complied, but nevertheless
at 3:10pm they used restraints to tie his legs, waist, and wrists to the bed. This
is confirmed by his doctor’s records, which state that restraints were begun on
April 30th due to a “possibility” that he might become agitated but say nothing
about him being agitated at the time of restraint. There is no mention of restraints
being removed until his cardiac arrest on May 30th.

Next, I was ordered by a nurse to pay for a pajama set with diapers because Kelly
would be restrained and unable to use the toilet “for a long time” ? this is a picture
of the form I had to fill out for those diapers. According to a meeting I recorded
with his doctors, the wrist restraints were sometimes removed, but the leg and
waist restraints were never removed except very briefly to clean Kelly’s body or
move him from room to room. This is a photo of Kelly lying in his hospital bed that
I took on May 8th, and this is a photo of the scars the restraints left on his ankles
that my Mum took the day before he died.
At 9:25pm on May 10th, a nurse found Kelly in a state of cardiac arrest. His heart
stopped for almost an hour. It was finally restarted after he was transported by
ambulance to an ICU at nearby Yamato Municipal Hospital. Unfortunately, it was
too late. Kelly was in a coma on a respirator unable to breathe by himself. A CT
scan taken on May 15 confirmed that Kelly’s brain was irreversibly damaged and
he would never regain consciousness. Two day later, his heart stopped beating
for good.

On May 14th, Kelly’s cardiologist wrote that he suspected Kelly’s cardiac arrest
was caused by deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. This is when a
blood clot develops in the leg due to lack of movement and then travels through
the bloodstream to block the lung. This suspicion was based on the readings from
Kelly’s blood pressure, oxygen levels, and blood tests, combined with the fact
that Kelly’s primary psychiatrist at Yamato Hospital had told the cardiologist over
the phone that Kelly had been restrained continuously for 10 days. This was the
first time this possibility had ever occurred to any of my family, and we couldn’t
stop crying when we heard this news. We thought the restraints were inhumane
and unnecessary, but we had no idea they could have caused Kelly’s cardiac arrest.
When we looked, however, it turned out that the risk was well-known ? this article
published in 2014 based on data from Japanese psychiatric hospitals shows that
almost 1 in 5 psychiatric patients restrained for more than 3 days develops deep
vein thrombosis.
We had hoped that we could get some kind of closure one way or the other from
the autopsy, but it was inconclusive, although it ruled out the possibility of a pre-
existing heart condition. Although the autopsy couldn’t find a blood clot, Kelly’s
cardiologist explained to us that often when a blood clot is relatively new it can
be hard to differentiate it from regular blood that has simply hardened after death.
In the end, he said that he still suspected either deep vein thrombosis or possibly
side effects of psychiatric medications, but without a conclusive autopsy he said
we would probably never know for sure.

At this point we began trying to get answers from Yamato Hospital or the Medsafe
system (日本医療安全調査機構) which is supposed to investigate this type of
medical accident. However, Yamato Hospital has completely stonewalled us and
refused to report itself for the investigation or give us copies of Kelly’s medical
records. Unfortunately, there is a well-known problem with the Medsafe system,
which is that does not have any power to independently investigate unless the hosp
ital voluntarily reports itself for investigation, and of course hospitals don’t want
to do that. In our case, the Director of the hospital (who is the same doctor who
authorized Kelly’s restraint in the first place) responded to our requests with a
letter stating that the hospital couldn’t imagine any possibility that Kelly’s death
could be related to their treatment. However, this is directly contradicted by an
admission made by one of Kelly’s supervising psychiatrists who admitted on tape
that deep vein thrombosis was a possible cause.
Other than allowing me to view a subset of Kelly’s records for 1 hour on July 12th,
Yamato Hospital has continued to refuse to release Kelly’s medical records or allow
us to copy them, despite being obligated to do so. I began requesting these over the
phone on May 31st, and finally had a lawyer send this formal request on July 7th
after it became clear they had no intention of letting us ever access copies. They
have yet to provide a definitive answer to this request. The New Zealand Ministiry
of Foreign Affairs and Trade is inquiring with the Japanese government on our
behalf about why these records are being denied.

Finally, just yesterday I discovered evidence suggesting that Yamato Hospital
has been falsifying Kelly’s medical records. During the meeting I recorded on
July 12th, I became suspicious because it listed giving Kelly a blood test at 14:08
to check for indications of any pre-existing blood clots. However, I was with Kelly
at his compulsory hospitalization interview, after which he was immediately restrained
at 15:10, and I never saw them administer any blood tests. Yesterday I called the
Yokohama City Office to check the official time of his compulsory hospitalization
authorization, and as I suspected it was 14:58 ? 50 minutes after the time they
claim to have already been performing medical tests on him. I also recorded this
phone call.

Unfortunately, what happened to Kelly is only the tip of the iceberg. The only reason
it’s finally getting any media attention is because Kelly was from New Zealand and
his death was on the front page of the largest newspaper in New Zealand. Several
major Japanese papers that have now interviewed me never responded when I first
called them over a month ago with this news. Given the fact that Kelly’s restraint
of 10 days wasn’t even close to the average restraint time of 96 days, I’m sure
there must be many more families out there that have been through this same horrible
experience but didn’t or couldn’t manage to get anyone to care. God knows it’s
been hard for my family and many times we’ve wondered whether we should just
give up. But the thought that if we did other families would continue having to sacrifice
their loved ones to Japan’s broken psychiatric system was too much to bear.
How can the country that is hosting the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics claim to
represent equality for all humans when it is violating UN policies regarding the
human rights of mentally ill patients on a massive scale? The world needs to know
what is happening, and Japan needs to act immediately to stop it. Please, don’t let
what happened to my brother happen to anyone else ever again.
