8.0R 上の MySQL 5.1.48 のログの世代管理 (rotate ?) をしたいとして，MySQL の設定でやった方がいいのか /etc/newsyslog.conf でやった方がいいのか意見をお願いします．
設定の書き方は何とか自分で調べられても，「暗黙の作法」，「こうやった方がきれいだ」的なことは正直良く分からないもので…

前スレからリンクされているのはこちらですし，私としてはなれない英語でもネタに付き合えば，(叱責を含めて)回答も付くかな…と思っていたのですが．
やはりネイティブでないので必要以上に攻撃的になってしまうというか．
とりあえず，ここの玄人の人達が即座に叱責するほどの不作法，という訳でもなさそうなので，
