自分が最近出版した教科書でも、校正がひどいとかいうレベルを超えて、
表の組み方を勝手に変えたり、式の途中で勝手に改行したり、ひどい校正だった。
文句を言うと「Springerの決まりなので」とか言ってくるけど、
もう少し偉い人通して抗議したらすぐ修正したり。

また Springer-Nature 社に論文の原稿の組版を目茶苦茶にされました。ローマンかイタリックかがおかしくなったり、縦揃えの位置が完全に無視されたり、Appendix への参照がなぜか全部 quote-unquote つきで "Appendix 3.2" になったり...

自分もまさに同じことが起こった！
つい先日acceptされたSpringer-Nature社の論文の校正用原稿の参考文献リスト、
投稿していたものと論文名が異なっているものが多数あった。
こっちが間違えたのかと思って確認したけど、投稿した原稿は正しかった。
参考文献120個以上あるのに全部チェックするはめに。

僕のせいじゃない原稿の誤字

数ヶ月前に発表した論文を読み返してみたんだ。
校正段階で、ピリオドがいくつか謎の削除をされていることに気づいたんだよね。
文はまだ大文字で始まっているんだけど、前のピリオドが消されちゃってるんだ。
これは普段しないミスだし、たぶん今まで一度もしたことないから、
僕のミスじゃなくて、ジャーナルのプロセスで起きたことだってのは明らかだよね。

Windowsと同じで、書籍が電子版に移行したら、間違いがあれば後で直せば良い、
多数の読者にデバッグして貰えば良い。バージョンアップすれば、また
新しい版のライセンスが売れて金が定期的に儲かる。そういうビジネスモデルに
出版社全体がなりつつあるのかもしれません。頻繁にバージョンアップしている
教科書は、不具合の修正のためだけではなくて如何にも著者の金儲けの為にわざ
とやっているような感がある。

一度書いた論文は変更不可能で修正は上書きでしかできない
そう習って生きてきたのでXみたいに都合が悪ければ消して逃げるみたいなのは納得いかない
