Transferred from a 33rpm vinyl of Tokyo Shibaura Electric Co.Ltd /Angel Record HA 1012/1013, which was the first release in Japan . Matrices: 2XRA-16-2N/2XRA-17-2N//2XRA-18-2N/19-2N, i.e. the very first edition of this legendary release so you will find there is no "applause" before and after the performance which was added on all the later editions.
Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Bayreuth Festival Chorus and Orchestra with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf(S), Elisabeth Hongen(A), Hans Hopf(T) and Otto Edelmann(B). Recorded on 29th July 1951 at the Festspielhaus, Bayreuth.
