仮想マシンに buster 入れて検証してみました
$ sudo snap install jdim --edge
error: cannot perform the following tasks:
- Mount snap "jdim" (1850) (snap "jdim" assumes unsupported features: snapd2.43 (try to update snapd and refresh the core snap))
起動うんぬん以前にこの辺が臭いますね

debian 10で別のソフトのイントールしようとして同じエラーになったケースだけど
(try to update snapd and refresh the core snap)はaptじゃなくsnapコマンドでcoreとsnapdをインストールしてrefreshするらしい
