The reason is easily explained. Their language does not have the same grammatical rules as real English.

based onを懸垂分詞として使うのは間違いだという話だ。
副詞的に使ってるわけだな。

ロングマンはさすがだ。他の辞書はここまで踏み込んでいない。
Garner's modern English usage 96Pにも書いてあるが、受動態および
形容詞的に使うのはOK。
