「Major win! New policy on Steam and r*pe + inc*st games being removed
Since we launched our campaign calling on Payment Processors to stop facilitating payments for r*pe, inc*st, s*xual torture and child-abuse themed games on Steam earlier this week, the gaming platform has added a new rule to their policies and has removed hundreds of these games.
The new rule states:
“Content that may violate the rules and standards set forth by Steam’s payment processors and related card networks and banks, or internet network providers. In particular, certain kinds of adult only content.”
We counted almost 500 games tagged with r*pe and inc*st on Monday, and at our last count, there are 82 left. We want them all gone!
Predictably, misogynistic gamers have come out in full force in defence of their access to r*pe games, sending our team abuse, threats, p*rn and CSAM, using and distributing photos of our faces and encouraging us to k*ll ourselves – across multiple platforms and via emails to individual staff members. The irony isn’t lost on us.
