論文の投稿は contribute や write でなく submit です
「服従する」という意味ですね
6ヶ月も経って quick rejection だ！などと言われても著者は何できません

Submitting a paper isn't about writing or contributing; it's about submission (in the sense of surrender). After six months, when the editor suddenly hits you with a 'quick rejection,' there is absolutely nothing the author can do. I feel the tragic helplessness of this bird.
