この間違いがあるから、>>192 ロイヤル英文法、>>205 ウィズダム英和辞典のようになる。

CGEL [15.62] では次の例を Nonfinite and verbless adverbial clauses
の中で分詞構文と同じものとしている。

Frank sat [reading the newspaper].
Edith came [running towards us].
The manager approached [smiling].
