そこまでは言わんけど現状イギリスに戦闘機エンジン用ATFが無いのは事実っぽい
イギリスはNGTEの大型施設が2000年代位に閉鎖されてから新設してないんだろうな
上の公聴会の別セッションでの証人も務めたRUSIのテイラー教授の20年12月のレポートにRRはテンペスト用エンジンの概略設計をしたが必要とみられる
高空試験設備が国内に無くアメリカ、大陸欧州、東アジアで可能性を探っているとある
Rolls-Royce has generated an outline design for an engine for Tempest that will deliver speed and range to the aircraft, limit its heat
signature and also generate extensive electronic power for the electronic warfare and weapons needs on the aircraft, which are expected
to grow over time. There are some unresolved engine issues that include the anticipated need for a high-altitude test facility, which is not available
in the UK. Possibilities are being investigated in the US, continental Europe and even East Asia.
